Porter-Leath’s 31st Annual Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival presented by Valero returns on Sunday, April 21 from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. on Riverside Drive, between Jefferson and Union. Admission is free. Funds raised through the festival support services offered by Porter-Leath for over 40,000 local children, families and early childhood educators.
Recognized among Memphians as the unofficial start of spring, Rajun Cajun offers fun for all Mid-South families, including crawfish bobbing, eating and racing contests. And children can play in the Downtown Memphis Commission Kids Area in River Garden Park.
The Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival is the largest one-day crawfish festival in the Mid-South, with over 30,000 attendees and thousands of pounds of fresh Louisiana crawfish. The festival features live swamp soul, rhythm & blues entertainment from Dikki Du and The Zydeco Krewe on the Orion Main Stage and Freeworld on the Southland Casino Hotel Riverside Stage.
KING’s Rightly Seasoned Swamp VIP Tent tickets are available for $150 per person and $280 per pair for a VIP experience with an unlimited Cajun buffet, beer and soft drinks from noon until 5 p.m. Local gumbo teams will also compete in the annual Cash Saver Gumbo Cook-Off to claim this year's skillet trophy and cash prizes.
“Admission is free, so we encourage everyone to enjoy this treasured Memphis experience and support Porter-Leath’s mission of empowering children and families,” said Rob Hughes, Vice President of Development at Porter-Leath.”
