A Day That Changed Lives

Last Friday, the energy at Nashville Sounds’ ballpark was nothing short of electric. Over 400 children streamed in, some nervous, some excited, all about to be reminded that they matter. Together with Delta Dental, the Nashville Sounds, nonprofit warriors like Samaritan’s Feet, National Public Television, and the Heart Association, cityCURRENT orchestrated a memorable day of service, fun, and care.

Every child received new socks and shoes—items many take for granted, but for these kids, meant everything. Volunteers knelt to put new shoes on little feet, offering not just material gifts but dignity, encouragement, and hope. Each child passed through the Delta Dental Tent, receiving exams, cleanings, and, if needed, prompt follow-ups thanks to partnering clinics like Neighborhood Health.

Between dental exams and face-painting, conversations flowed: “What do you dream of becoming?” “How is school going?” For a moment, the business leaders and volunteers were simply caring adults seeing these children—seeing their potential, their struggles, their worth.

Serving Arm in Arm: Leading by Example

It’s not easy to step away from a bustling day at the office, but cityCURRENT’s philosophy is clear: “We have this belief that it’s our obligation to give back. Those are the moments that mean the most.” The event drew more than 100 volunteers, all enduring a steamy day at the ballpark—sweat, smiles, and all. These weren’t just employees checking a box; they were leaders modeling what real business excellence looks like: service, humility, and heart.
