United Way of the Mid-South is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Mid-Southerners by mobilizing and aligning community resources to address local priority issues, with a particular focus on fighting poverty in the greater Memphis region. Founded in 1923, the organization partners with nonprofits and community stakeholders across Crittenden County (AR); DeSoto, Tate, and Tunica counties (MS); and Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby, and Tipton counties (TN). United Way of the Mid-South invests in programs and initiatives in education, financial stability, and health to foster economic and social mobility, striving to ensure that all individuals and families in the Mid-South have the opportunity to thrive. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to their mission, guiding their work and community impact from their headquarters in Memphis at United Way Plaza on Tillman Street.
