David L. Pool was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended the University of Memphis where he earned a Bachelor of Music, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Juris Doctorate. David spent seven years teaching in public and private schools, then spent seven years as a professional musician prior to entering law school.
After graduating from law school David spent six years in private practice and four years as in-house counsel for Drexel Chemical Company before being appointed as a Shelby County Criminal Court magistrate in 2016.
David is a past president of the University of Memphis Law Alumni Board and continues to serve on the board. David is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and the Tennessee Judicial Commissioners Conference. David continues his passion for music by performing and recording locally and in the tri-state area.
