Since its founding in 2005, cityCURRENT has partnered with over 120 businesses—from major employers to smaller firms—to align resources and host more than 300 free community events annually, ranging from national guest speaker seminars to volunteer projects. The organization uses media platforms including television, radio, podcasts, and newsletters to spotlight positive stories, celebrate local nonprofits and change-makers, and inspire broader community involvement. cityCURRENT also supports philanthropic efforts by organizing volunteer opportunities and providing financial assistance to nonprofits, aiming to foster collaboration, civic engagement, and impactful solutions throughout Memphis and the Mid-South.
