About

Michael O. Harris is a Memphis-born civic leader, community builder, and proud girl dad dedicated to creating opportunity and driving meaningful change across the Memphis metropolitan area. A graduate of the University of Memphis and alumnus of Bishop Byrne, Michael brings both academic grounding and deep local roots to everything he does.

He currently serves as President and CEO of the Memphis Metropolitan Land Bank Authority, a role he has held since July 2022, where he leads efforts to return vacant and blighted properties to productive use — strengthening neighborhoods and expanding economic opportunity throughout Shelby County.

Known for leading with vision and heart, Michael is passionate about building communities from the inside out — connecting people, resources, and leadership to create lasting impact. His work sits at the intersection of public service, property development, and community engagement, making him one of Memphis's most committed advocates for equitable growth.
