Take Her Hand, Make a Memory: A Daddy-Daughter Night Worth Crossing the River For
Chick-fil-A’s November 19 Daddy-Daughter Date Night at the Memphis Zoo offers West Memphis families lights, laughter, and time together.

Chick-fil-A’s November 19 celebration at the Memphis Zoo gives West Memphis dads and daughters an evening of lights, laughter, and time together.
One day, she’s reaching up for your hand.
Another day, she’s walking a little farther ahead.
Childhood rarely announces that it’s moving on. It happens between school mornings, work schedules, dinner dishes, and all the things we promise we’ll do when life slows down.
But sometimes, there’s an opportunity to stop waiting—and put a memory on the calendar.
For West Memphis dads and daughters, that opportunity arrives Thursday, November 19, when Chick-fil-A Mid-South hosts its 2026 Daddy-Daughter Date Night at the Memphis Zoo. From 5 to 9 p.m., families can enjoy an evening that combines the zoo’s Lantern Festival, a special Chick-fil-A dinner, and a daddy-daughter dance.
The lights will be beautiful. The activities will be fun.
But the most meaningful part might simply be this: Dad made time.
More Than a Dance
Country artist Jason Blaine’s “Dance With My Daughter” offers a fitting touchstone for this kind of evening—a reminder to treasure the moments shared with a daughter as she grows.
You don’t have to know the song to understand the feeling.
It’s the little girl who has been talking about her outfit all week. The dad who isn’t much of a dancer but steps onto the floor anyway. The picture that may not be perfectly posed but becomes one nobody wants to delete.
An evening like this creates space for something ordinary schedules can crowd out: unhurried attention.
Not another errand. Not a conversation squeezed between notifications. A night set aside to say, through your actions, “I’m happy to be here with you.”
Why These Moments Matter for Girls
The importance goes beyond the dance floor.
A review of research on fathers’ engagement with daughters links positive, nurturing father-daughter relationships with daughters’ emotional well-being, self-esteem, and educational aspirations. The research emphasizes the quality of that relationship—including warmth, encouragement, and how daughters experience their fathers’ care.
One special evening does not create those outcomes by itself. But it can be one expression of the consistent attention and connection that a strong relationship requires.
The opportunity isn’t to impress her with a perfect night. It’s to listen when she talks, laugh together, let her help choose the next activity, and enjoy who she is right now.
The invitation is to be present.
A Night of Lanterns, Laughter, and Little Adventures
Organizers have planned much more than dinner and dancing. Tickets include admission to the Memphis Zoo Lantern Festival, the daddy-daughter dance, a Chick-fil-A meal, and a variety of activities throughout the evening.
Among the included experiences:
The Zoomazing Race Zip Line.
Carousel and train rides.
A holiday maze and photo booths.
Crafts, hot chocolate, and s’mores.
A light-up tiara for daughters upon entry.
Each dining location will also feature a Princess Parlor with crafts, unicorn hair extensions, and face painting. Guests receive a s’mores kit to enjoy together at an event fire pit or take home.
There’s room for a little adventure, a little silliness, and a photograph or two between it all.

Don’t Wait for “Someday”
There will always be another busy week. Another reason to put it off. Another evening that disappears into the usual routine.
This one can be different.
Ask her to go. Let her get excited. Put the phone away long enough to see the night through her eyes.
And when it’s time to dance, take her hand.
You don’t have to know the steps to give her a moment worth remembering.
