Every election cycle, career politicians step up to the microphone and promise to fix the Shelby County Clerk's Office. They offer political talking points, but nothing changes. Why? Because the Clerk’s Office isn’t a political arena. It is a massive, complex retail and logistics operation.

You don’t need a politician to fix a supply chain. You need a logistics expert.

Meet Bob Green.

Bob Green is not running for office to secure a political "soft landing" or build a government resume. He is a 31-year veteran of the customer service and logistics industry who is running for one simple reason: he knows exactly how to fix the bottleneck, and he is tired of watching citizens pay the price for bad management.

"This office is forced retail," Green explains. "If a regular retail store had people waiting in line for three hours, the managers would be fired that day. Citizens are the customers, and they deserve a system that actually works for them. It is unacceptable that people are just being told to 'get used to it.'"

While other candidates are busy drafting political promises about what they hope to do, Green has actually done it.

During his tenure at Memphis-based Hollywood Feed, Green didn't just manage operations—he overhauled them. He trained the company’s entire initial Texas market from the ground up. When he saw inefficiencies on the warehousing side, he stepped in, took over the logistics, and completely rebuilt the broken systems. Today, Green works in property and evidence management for law enforcement, handling high-stakes, zero-error logistics every single day.

He knows how to move inventory, manage teams, and cut through red tape because he has spent decades doing it in the real world. That means on Day One, Bob Green doesn't need a learning curve. He already has the battle plan:

• Audit and Execute: No more lost leases or surprise closures. Day one means auditing every property lease and immediately replacing the outdated Windows 7 computers slowing workers down.

• The Apple Store Model: End the aimless waiting. Implement a triage system where citizens are directed the moment they walk in the door, and create dedicated appointment times for businesses and fleet vehicles.

• Neighborhood Access: Why should residents in Bartlett or Arlington be forced to drive downtown for basic services? Green plans to partner with existing community hubs, like local libraries, to create efficient satellite drop-offs.

• Empower the Staff: The current supervisors in the Clerk's office are working tirelessly under crushing conditions. Green’s plan gives them the modern tools, compensation, and leadership support they need to actually succeed.

Shelby County doesn't need to go back to the way things were a decade ago—we need to catch up to the future. It is time to stop electing politicians to do a manager's job.
