MEMPHIS, TN – All media outlets and anyone who can assist, please disseminate this information. We are gathering all resources and food assistance to help mitigate this food assistance crisis during the shutdown. We aim to help fill gaps and encourage everyone to contribute in any way possible and/or join our efforts. Many have initiated their own missions; we encourage you to help anyone spearheading these solutions but know that it is possible to overcome crisis together, and we can all participate by providing support in any capacity possible.

Operation MVP3: Memphis – Call of Duty, Calling Out the Bluff and Seeking Action

The Mission

Operation MVP3: Memphis is on a mission to bring everyone together to provide resources and information, and collect donations for food and gift cards from local restaurants and grocery stores.

We can all help and serve those who need to be served right now and have a plan to provide an outlet for them to get food assistance, find job openings, and get on a sustainable path.

This is a Call of Duty while there is a shutdown; we must fill that gap as humans who claim we need change!

To address serious problems, we need individuals who are serious and committed to finding solutions for the reported 150,000 people struggling with food assistance in the Memphis area during this time.

How to Get Involved

Funding Needed Now:
Donations should be made payable to Feed The Needy, which requires an additional $5,000 immediately. The more funds raised, the more they can feed those in need and support senior citizen food assistance programs, including Thanksgiving meals.

Churches and Organizations:
Many churches are actively helping their communities. If you are a church or organization setting up a food supply, please send your information and details about how people can receive assistance. MVP3 Foundation will report a list of assisting churches and organizations on its platforms to help spread the word.

Corporate and Retail Partners:
The MVP3 Foundation has already reached out to Kroger and Sam’s Club for assistance, and has contacted Walmart and Target. Items have begun to arrive from Costco.
If your organization can provide food or gift card donations, please reach out. MVP3 Foundation will distribute these resources to churches and community programs serving local residents. Updates and donation recipients will be listed daily on the MVP3 Foundation Facebook page.

Farmers and Community Gardens:
The foundation is also collaborating with farmers and gardening organizations for long-term food education and sustainability efforts through Project Trinity. If you can contribute produce or farming support, please send your information.

Staffing Companies and Employers:
Job openings are a key part of this mission. Staffing companies, businesses, and organizations with available positions are encouraged to submit their opportunities so MVP3 Foundation can connect them to those transitioning out of food scarcity.
If you need a job, send your information and it will be forwarded to partnered staffing companies.

A Call to Action

Your voices are needed, but action is a duty and a solution. This is a time to empower those in need—offering help that uplifts and restores dignity. Let’s come together and solve this problem!

MVP3 Foundation is seeking support from individuals and businesses to purchase gift cards from local restaurants. These cards serve dual purposes: sustaining individuals experiencing food insecurity and supporting family-owned small businesses across Memphis.

Please consider donating gift cards or additional funding to help women and children through the Esther Fund program.
