For more than six decades, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis has been a cornerstone of hope, opportunity, and growth for thousands of young people across our city. Founded in 1962, this organization has grown from a single club serving 162 members to 20 clubs spread across 12 zip codes, serving nearly 8,000 youth annually. Their mission is simple yet profound: to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

A Safe Place to Learn and Grow

The Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe, stable environment where children and teens can thrive after school and during the summer months. Open every weekday afternoon and evening, the clubs offer a refuge from the challenges many face in their neighborhoods, providing positive role models and a supportive community. For many members, the club staff are the most influential adults in their lives, offering guidance, encouragement, and friendship.

At the heart of the Clubs’ success are their six core program areas:
