Dear Michelle Robinson McKissack
Written by: Marvis M Rodgers
I will be honest with you, before this ordeal I knew nothing about you. I knew your name, but I knew nothing about your character, beliefs, or integrity. I watched you in the meetings and attentively listened to you when you spoke. Your passion for the work you do, your plea for a fair process, and your fervency while fighting did not go unnoticed.
I appreciate you and I value you. If everyone on the board was like you, our school board would be powerful. Thank you for not just giving us the vote we wanted, but for giving us your voice and your vision. If we got nothing else out of this, we got to know you.
I am not quite sure of what your goals and plans are in the near or far future, but I want you to know that whatever it is, you have my full support. Even if I am not in your district, I am going to support you. You stood 10 toes down when no one else wanted to say a word, and I will never forget you. You, my dear, are the real MVP!
May God continue to bless you, keep you, guide you, and lead you. I pray that no good thing is withheld from you and that you are rewarded bountifully for who you are and what you stand for. I pray that peace engulfs you, joy follows you, love guides you, and grace and mercy continue to keep you.
Everybody needs somebody like you on their team. I've never met you, but I love you and I thank God for calling you in such a time as this.
Shalom.
