A Heartfelt Mission
Stumbling Santa isn't just about having a good time; it's also about giving back. Over the past 20 years, this event has collected more than 20,000 toys for local preschool-age children through Porter-Leath. Bob Burditt, one of the event's founders and a recruiter at Vaco, reflects on its growth: "We had no idea this would grow into something so impactful. It started with two friends in costumes wanting to bring a little holiday surprise to downtown. Now, knowing we're filling a truck with toys for local children, it's just amazing."
Dress to Impress
Participants are encouraged to showcase their holiday spirit by wearing their best festive attire! Whether it's a quirky holiday sweater or an elaborate Santa costume, creativity is key. Don't forget to bring along a new, unwrapped toy or make a cash donation to contribute to this wonderful cause. Suggested toy donations include puzzles, dolls, trucks, and building blocks—items that promote early learning for children under age 5. You can also text Jolly to 50155 for direct donations.
Spreading Joy
"Stumbling Santa is a cherished holiday tradition that continues to bring joy to local families," says Rob Hughes, Vice President of Development at Porter-Leath. "With the support of Stumbling Santa and Vaco, we're able to ensure children ages five and under receive a new holiday toy, bringing smiles and brightening their holiday season."
