The Memphis 13 Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the thirteen brave first-graders who desegregated Memphis City Schools in 1961. Known as The Memphis 13, these young pioneers played a crucial role in the civil rights movement, and their courage continues to inspire generations.

The Foundation's mission is to honor their legacy by providing educational resources, fostering community collaboration, and promoting social justice. Through various initiatives such as the Commemorative Murals, the Memphis FilmWorks Project, and the Teaching The Memphis 13 workshops, the Foundation empowers today's young learners with the powerful stories of these local heroes.

By connecting the past with the present, the Memphis 13 Foundation ensures that the experiences of The Memphis 13 are not forgotten but serve as vital educational tools for future generations. The Foundation regularly updates its schedule with events like workshops and community film screenings, inviting the public to join in their mission.
