World Relief Memphis is part of World Relief, a global Christian humanitarian organization. Our mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. We envision thriving, welcoming communities where families flourish, and people experience restorative relationships with God, their neighbors, themselves, and all creation.
Global Reach
World Relief's work in the United States focuses on helping refugees and other immigrants in vulnerable situations rebuild their lives in a new country.
Local Impact
World Relief Memphis opened in 2012, and we've been welcoming our neighbors to the Bluff City ever since. For a decade, we have empowered churches, community organizations, and individuals to adapt to the challenges of the moment for the sake of refugees. As needs have increased, we have expanded our work beyond refugees to include all immigrants in vulnerable situations.
Our Approach
- Church Centered: We believe that God gave us a plan to save our broken world, and it begins with his church and his people leading the way.
- Holistic: We focus on transformation of the whole person — mind, body, and spirit, addressing root causes of poverty, vulnerability, and injustice.
- Sustainable: We prioritize the leadership and participation of those we serve to create lasting change. Many of our staff are immigrants themselves.
