Su Casa Family Ministries is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Latino community in Memphis. Our mission is to support and empower Latino families through education, community services, and faith-based initiatives.
Our History
2005: The Memphis "Adopt-A-School" Program at Berclair Elementary begins with volunteers from Second Presbyterian Church, leading to the establishment of an Adult English Program for first-generation Latino immigrants.
2008: Su Casa Family Ministries officially becomes a nonprofit organization in March.
2016: In response to community needs, Su Casa Preschool is established, offering bilingual education for children aged 1-4 years old.
2020: During COVID-19 lockdowns, Su Casa adapts by creating Su Caja preschool learning tools, virtual classrooms for adults, and providing essential services including testing events, food and mask distributions, housing assistance, and over $54,000 in relief funds.
2021: Su Casa returns to in-person learning for preschoolers and adopts a hybrid model for adult education. The organization hosts 8 vaccination events and partners to bring 2 Health Advocates and an attorney on-site.
